The 5th Wheel: Rutherford Undergoes History Making Transplant

The 5th Wheel has learned that Joel T. Rutherford, Bass of 2008 7th place quartet finalists Glory Days, is about to become the first ever recipient of an animal to human transplant. The surgery, which takes place one week from now, will involve the removal of Rutherford's right ear and replaced with the ear from a golden retriever. If the surgery is a success, Rutherford will no longer have to raise his right hand and cup his ear in order to hear his low notes on the competition stage.

Rutherford is one of The 5th Wheel's favorite basses in the Society. We have tremendous respect of his abilities to sing and perform. But come on bro, we know you've got the notes. Take the training wheels off and ride brother! Trust us, we've got your back, man.

With that being said, the writers of The 5th Wheel hope we never run into Rutherford in a dark alley. Which begs the question, why would he be hanging in a dark alley?

The 5th Wheel was able to obtain a picture from the doctors of what they believe will be the finished look for Rutherford:
